External Peer Review of
EPA’s Draft Health Effects Documents for
Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS)
The public comment period for the draft documents is NOW CLOSED
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a public comment period for the draft documents entitled, “Health Effects Document for Perfluorooctanoic Acid” and “Health Effects Document for Perfluorooctane Sulfonate.” The draft documents and charge questions were prepared in order to support potential future regulatory evaluations and decisions. EPA is releasing these draft documents for purposes of public comment (scientific views) and peer review. These draft documents do not represent and should not be construed to represent final Agency policy.
All comments received during the public comment period will be made publically available on the EPA docket. In addition, comments will be made available to the peer reviewers for consideration in their review. Oral or written comments will not be accepted during the external peer review meeting, so it is important that all comments be submitted during the public comment period. Additionally, anyone wishing to be considered as a peer reviewer must not submit comments during the 60-day public comment period. No comments will be accepted after the closing of the comment period except from those nominated as a potential peer reviewer but not selected as a final peer reviewer.
Persons interested in commenting on the documents may submit their comments electronically via www.regulations.gov, by email, by mail, or by hand delivery/courier. Please follow the instructions below for additional information.
